Join Us in Celebrating Your Contribution to the “Animals in Disasters” Project Report

I suggest all members read the documents in the below link re:

  • Developing systems and capacities to protect animals in catastrophic fires
  • Preparing for emergencies with your animals:  A community conversation guide

These documents are a result of the 2019-2020 fires and it deals with domestic and wildlife so those with wildlife in care should make themselves aware of the requirements and hopefully attend.

Invitation

On behalf of the research team, we are delighted to invite you to "Animals in Disasters: Community-Led Planning and Care in Times of Crisis," an event dedicated to recognizing and sharing the important contributions made by community members like you. Your invaluable experiences, insights, and resilience have shaped this report.

Event Details:
 Date: Wednesday 27 November 2024
 Location: Postman’s Tavern, Nowra
 Time: 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm AEDT

This gathering will be an opportunity to celebrate your role in the project and to reflect on the findings from our collective work on animal care during the 2019-20 Black Summer fires. Our speakers, including Professor Danielle Celermajer, Dr. Blanche Verlie, Dr. Anna Sturman, and Freya MacDonald, will share the key takeaways from the report and discuss the significance of community-led care in times of crisis.

We have also attached the completed report and the community conversation guide for your reference.

We hope you will join us in celebrating this milestone, which would not have been possible without your input, compassion, and dedication.

Please RSVP by registering here.

Thank you once again for your remarkable contributions. We look forward to honouring your role and discussing the report outcomes.

Kind regards,
Hannah
