Which Option is Right For You?

Wildlife Rescue South Coast (WRSC) is a registered charity with Deductible Gift Recipient status. As such, we are legally bound to use donated funds in ways that support our key objects as described in the WRSC constitution (i.e. wildlife rescue and rehabilitation). There are two ways in which you can apply for funds or facilities. Each of these has its own terms and conditions.

The WRSC Investment Scheme- for wildlife rescue or rehabilitation facilities or equipment that will improve the capacity, quality or resilience of our organisation’s ability to rescue and rehabilitate wildlife in need. Starts May 1 2020 and continues until further notice. Terms and conditions here.
The Bushfire Recovery Grant – for urgent repairs or replacement of WRSC members’ facilities or the acquisition of additional facilities needed as a direct or indirect result of the impact of the 2019/20 bushfires. Grants to be available until 30 June 2020 unless extended. Terms and conditions here.

Please make sure you apply for the correct one and understand the terms and conditions that apply for each. If you do apply for funds under the Bushfire relief fund or through the WRSC Investment Scheme you will be deemed to have read and agreed to the terms and conditions, so it is important that you read the terms and conditions before you apply.

Wildlife Rescue South Coast Investment Scheme  Closes July 2020

On May 1 2020, Wildlilfe Rescue South Coast will launch a time-limited scheme to improve the capacity and resilience of our organisation. We have set aside a six-figure sum for projects that will materially improve our operations. These might include such things as:
  • Projects for shared facilities that benefit wildlife carers in an area
  • A project on your property that would improve the capacity and/or resilience of our organisation
  • Improvements to facilities that will improve wildlife rescue and rehabilitation services on the NSW South Coast.
  • Minor works to fund new / improved facilities
  • Acquisition of equipment that will improve your ability to rescue and rehabilitate wildlife
  • Any other projects designed to improve the quality, capacity or resilience of our wildlife rescue and rehabilitation operations
All WRSC members can apply using the form below. Please select the "Wildlife Rescue Investment Scheme" as the application type.

Applications will be assessed by merit, according to various criteria including but not limited to:
  • The degree to which the proposal will improve the quality, capacity and resilience of Widllife Rescue South Coast
  • The overall cost of the proposal
  • The value of the benefits the investment will accrue
  • How long until the investment will deliver benefits
Assets acquired under this scheme may be retained by Wildlife Rescue South Coast, and loaned to individual members for their use. This will be decided by WRSC on a case-by-case basis.
Bushfire Recovery Grant
Officially Closes July 2020

Financial aid is available to all Wildlife Rescue South Coast volunteers. This aid is provided as a grant, not a loan. No repayment is necessary. This offer is available to our volunteers for any of the following reasons:
  • Replacement of wildlife enclosures or similar structures destroyed in the recent fires (i.e. 2019/2020 fire events in the areas covered by WRSC)
  • Repairs to wildlife enclosures or similar damaged in recent fires
  • Replacement of wildlife rehabilitation equipment destroyed in the recent fires
  • Enhancement of, or additions to enclosures needed to extend capacity to take in more animals due to the recent fires and/or extreme weather events
  • Purchasing food or medical supplies for wildlife brought into care due to the recent fires and/or or extreme weather events
  • Additional veterinary costs for wildlife requiring treatment due to the  recent fires and/or extreme weather event.
  • We will consider applications in three categories - small grants up to and including $2,000; standard grants up to $5,000; and large claims for amounts greater than $5,000.

We aim to provide funds to successful applicants quickly by means of a cash advance so recovery can start without delay. When filling out the application form below, please select the "Bushfire Recovery Grant" as the application type.

Successful applicants will normally be expected to complete their projects within 3 months of receiving funds. Extensions of time may be available to allow for special circumstances (e.g. larger projects or  unavailability of materials etc.).
